I am frequently asked where do I get my models and how did I get them so cheap? Well let me introduce you to my friend John Geigle. He used to owned Masterpiece Models but has sold it to his friend Chris Benshoof. He has since closed down his brick and mortar store and sells mostly as a vendor at model shows. He started a monthly online auction called “Live Scale Model Auction” on Facebook. Mas...

The Ford GPA ('G' Government, 'P' stood for 80-inch wheelbase, A Amphibious), "Seep" Sea Jeep, was an amphibious version of the World War II Ford GPW jeep. The kit I have is an old kit first produced in 1974 with number MM143.

That turned out great. For a Monogram kit it looks great. Id love to know how you managed the open canopy. The grey over white colour scheme is fantastic. I have three of this model. I still think it's a good kit just lacks details. But with a good paint job the completed kit is excellent. However I do have the accurate miniatures versions three of the Flight 19 lost in The Bermuda Triangle with decals to do all five Aircraft and the Bunker Hill version and the Hobbyboss release. But still like the revel Monogram kit. You've done a great job on that.👍🇭🇲🦘🐨✌️
i built this kit in nineteen sixty eight when i was fifteen. the kit had come out in nineteen sixty seven, along with the messerschmitt one o nine, the spitfire and the p forty. i loved those kits.
Heu clay.gpod to.hearyou voice every once in awhile i'll watch old videos of you taping my models. If you want to.get the sheridan offyour hands send it to me. Haha. Anyways. I keep forgettting about youand Geigle im looking for 2 kits. The Monogram SB3C Helldiver in 48th(promodeler) and the Revell JU88A4 in 32nd scale. Kinda shocking to see me looking for aircraft kits but ive turned a corner. Im also building a USS Washington in700th scale. No hurry on any responce. Keep up.the videos.
Great build and diorama. For a large scale FW190 project I challenged myself to upgrade a Hobby Boss 1/18, A-5 knowing the kit is the sprue parts from the Merit International toy. Overall shape is accurate and the fit is good. Like the 1/24 Airfix, it allowed many modifications for improvement. The model is posed in flight on a custom stand with a motorized propeller/fan and is posted on my channel.
Very nice build. For car kits, I typically avoid the ones that don't have a motor and are just are body and chassis, like many Fujimi kits. And despite the lack of a motor, they're also quite overpriced.
Rob continues his legend as a great model builder and teacher. I was a volunteer with him at Historic Flight Foundation, and he was always very knowledgable and helpful to us all. He was also a great mechanic on maintaining the warbirds that the collection had. His work on any model I’ve seen is absolutely museum quality. I am pleased to see his tradition continues.
I have one of these 190's I started building in the 90's, its pretty much finished, except for decals, but has lot a couple of parts that went missing over the years, given the insane price of these kits on ebay now its worth me spending a bit of money on some resin bits (new wheels mainly) and I need to scratch build one engine panel to give me a nice model that you don't really see too much.
Beautiful 190 build and diorama. I also read the “Blonde Knight of Germany.” Great book for any military aviation enthusiast.
slava ukraine lol
I've had my eye on this kit recently, think I'll pick one up.
Thanks for sharing the information
You bet!
American Courage ? You mean they got LUCKY, bloody Americans 🙄🙄🤦♂🤦♂👎👎👎👎
Well....I suppose it costs an arm and a leg....right????....
Don't suppose your friend has a ALIEN Drop Ship for sale???
Didn’t see one.
@@MajorDisappointmentModels Can you please keep an eye out for one?, just keep in mind I live in Australia.
@@johntreloar8203 It's not my stash and John literally has about 10,000 kits in boxes. If I see one I'll try to grab it.
@@MajorDisappointmentModels Thanks, much appreciated.
Hi. You asked me about my Ju88's and there age. Well I don,t know their exact dates but the Airfix one is in its original box where it depicts the aircraft attacking a ship and thRevell one's show the aircraft in flight withthe blue box surrounding the picture. I think that this would put the Airfix one in the early 70's and thRevell one's in the late 80's area. I know that the Airfix one is in the original pale blue plastic, I can,t remember what colour the Revell kits come in. I hope that helps. Best regards.
Just found you through the Tacoma Green Dragons Page. I'm just south of you in Olympia. Great review! I just picked up 2 of these in a model lot. One built one unbuilt. I really like the detail on this kit. Thanks for sharing!
Glad you liked it. There is a group of guys that carpool to the club meetings from Olympia. message me and I'll put you in touch with them if you are interested.
@@MajorDisappointmentModels Great! we are currently in overdrive Life mode but I definitely will when the dust settles. Thanks!
Nice score! 😊
Thanks for the visit. Was that you on with us yesterday?
@@MajorDisappointmentModels Yes, it was me. Thanks for all the great Info. You guys rock!
Cool kits.👍
Great stash adds Clay
Thanks Tommy.
Hi. You have a reasonably new version of this aircraft by Revell. I have two of the original Revell kits plus an old Airfix one as well. If you think that your kit isn,t good you should see what I have to deal with. Poor fit issues minimal cockpit details, raised rivets everywhere and out of scale parts. Don, t you just love modelling ? I of course will get round to making all of them and correcting the mistakes for my sins. Good luck with yours.
Scalemates says that the 1967 version is the earliest. What years are your? www.scalemates.com/kits/revell-h-113-junkers-ju-88--147450
I have a stack of those that come with the female figurines.
Thats cool it was put out on my birthday year.
You youngster. lol thanks for watching.
I looked these up on Amazon and eBay. None on Amazon (they had other egg planes),eBay had a couple, all $60+
Head to one of your local model shows. A vendor may have them and they sell cheaper at the shows. Bet you can find them for $10.
@@clayching Amazon had an SR-71 for reasonable. I should get it
that's very cool finding out we made them first.
From Wikipedia "Though definitely not "true scale" models, Hasegawa also produces a line of small aircraft called Egg Planes. On the box they are described as "grade-A jumbo scale". They feature an egg-shaped distorted interpretation of a real world aircraft, such as the P-51 mustang, SR-71 blackbird, and the Space Shuttle. The kits have a relatively low parts count and are designed to provide recreational enjoyment. These kits were first introduced in Easter 1972 (Air Enthusiast, section Model Enthusiast, April 1972), and their range was limited to the first three models discussed above. In the 1980s, 1990's and 2000's, Hasegawa has increased the range to mirror successful models in their more formal scale model ranges in 1:72. Subjects today include a wider range of World War II fighters, modern combat aircraft, helicopters, and even Macross Valkyries."
We plan on doing this group build as long as we can. 5th year so far and charie and I look forward to it every year.
and I haven't finished one yet.
That was the first eggplane I built for the annual eggplane group build. It's as flimsy as it looks
And it flew that way. Thanks for watching.
Nice work.
Zeros are great planes to model...
Pretty incredible. Nice work.
Nice comparison Clay, I be built several of the eggplanes, they can be a lot of fun, 😎👍
I also videoed a follow up but I want to wait a few days before I post it. Thanks for watching Tommy.
Superb and equal explanation
Nice color and paint scheme, if any plane had a perfect Delta its that one.
I built that kit in 1976. I had to wait until the UPS strike was over for the kit to be delivered to Fisher's Hobby Shop in North Quincy, MA.
Great video! Personally I would prefer if the acrylic vs enamel discussion was an individual discussion going into more detail
Outstanding craftsmanship! I found you via the algorithm and will be a subscriber! Your research knowledge and knowledge of the modeling craft is top tier! If I may offer some minor critiques to help your videos be as good as your models. A tripod or something for the camera man to brace against will do wonders for the stability and ability to capture the quality of your work! Having pages in the manual for relevant talking points will save flipping though. I personally would have liked to see the instructions relating to the crew even though I completely understand why they were not utilized. And finally maybe a dry run to check camera angles (lots of feet and jeans) and also to refresh a lot of your talking points to reduce the number of "umms" and "ahhs". But again I love the video and will be watching others you made and cannot wait for future videos!
Not mine but Rob's. He is retired Air Force and volunteered at Paul Allen's Flying museum. Thanks for watching. I'll pass your comments to Rob.
That excact model I builded in the 1970s when I was a teenager. It’s really old but had many details.
Cool model.
Great product. Company seems out of business now.
Design...
One beautiful kit of a deadly
I built this kit many years ago, and enjoyed it. 😎👍
That’s an impressive build, very nice.
Cool as hell !! Nice work. 👍
I'll relay your comments to the builder.
Got one on order, that should arrive in a few days :)
The Navy S-3 Viking, the vertical stabilizer folds. Nice job with kit. Currently building a diorama with the A myself.
Great job very cool I love the color combination and I will be building that kit later this year
Very nice build but a few erroneous remarks made. That Spitfire was flown by Wing Commander Robert "Bobby" GIbbes of the Royal Australian Air Force. Gibbes commanded 80 Wing and his rank allowed him to have personalised markings on his aircraft, thus the RG-V: RG were is initials and he always carried the letter V as a good luck charm - the P-40s that he flew in North Africa with 3 Squadron RAAF were always coded CV-V. The RAAF was not part of the RAF; nor was this aircraft. Secondly, the RAAF did not operate in the Burmese theatre. The RAF SEAC National markings are similar to the RAAF markings but with a pale blue roundel centre; not white. RAAF 80 Wing operated in the SWPA, notably around the Morotai area. Lastly, "Chenault's group" (American Volunteer Group, or AVG, aka "Flying Tigers" did not invent the shark mouth marking. They adopted it from the RAF P-40s that were at war with Germany and Italy in North Africa before the AVG was formed. Apparently, Chenault had seen newsreel footage of RAF P-40s and liked the look of the shark mouth, so applied it to AVG aircraft.
Great job looks fantastic
Dragon kits, love them or hate them , they have too many parts.
Great looking build. I have the kit but haven't even opened the box yet (won it in a raffle). The gold in the canopies was to protect the crew from the powerful radio waves emanating from their own pods while in operation.
I have this kit on my to do shelf, so it's good to see this video.
